About this call

We have launched an open call for rapid actions in the areas of protection of democracy, the rule of law and human rights, media literacy, gender equality, and environmental protection. A total of €300,000 will be available. Individual action must be between €1,000 and €10,000. First applications may be submitted from 1st of June, 3 PM onwards. The call will be open untill all the funds are spent. Up-date 27/10/2026 - till now 21 actions have been approved and there is 101.517,90 eur still availabe. The main purpose is to support organisations in urgent advocacy, legal, communication and other actions designed as an immediate response to various challenges (e.g. pressure on different operations; disinformation; hate speech; violations of rights of specific groups; legislative changes harmful to democracy). It also aims to enhance the role of NGOs in shaping local or national level policies (e.g. responding to regulations in the making; applying pressure for a solution to start taking shape). Applicants must take into account that: in the field of environmental protection and climate change, only actions related to public participation, advocacy, strategic litigation, social innovation, and active citizenship will be supported; activities related to welfare provision and basic social services will only be supported in the context of broader public awareness, advocacy, empowerment, and initiative-building actions; the involvement of young people (in public mobilisation and campaign implementation) is particularly encouraged. Expected results These include: increased NGO participation in democratic processes (advocacy), increased citizen engagement (public support), strengthened media literacy and information credibility, supported human rights, including non-discrimination and social justice, supported gender equality, including issues of sexual and reproductive health and the rights of LGBTQI+ communities, supported climate action, environmental protection, and a just green transition. What does a quick response mean in practice? An example of a situation in which you can apply for quick response funding: A ministry has just opened a draft law for public consultation. You already have some ideas but need additional expert support to develop well-argued, evidence-based proposals. The call is not intended to support activities that can be planned in advance as part of a comprehensive project. Up-date 27/10/2026 - till now 21 actions have been approved and there is 101.517,90 eur still availabe.

Eligible applicants are non-governmental organisations (NGOs) in compliance with the conditions set in the Article 2 of the Non-governmental Organisations Act (Official Gazette of Republic of Slovenia no. 21 /18) and if they meet requirements set in the Programme Implementation Agreement (PIA).
