Snina a city that is ready for climate change

About this project

<p><span style="font-size: 11pt"><span style="font-family: Calibri, sans-serif">The ambition of the City of Snina is to become an innovative city and to find solutions how to improve the climate in the city, as well as in the region of Upper Zemplín. Target groups of the Project are the inhabitant of the City of Snina, with special focus on elderly, children and youth, who are among the most vulnerable groups and the marginalized Roma community. Under the Project, the Action Plan of City of Snina will be elaborated and suggest the solutions how to heal the climate in the city and how to adapt to the climate change. The City of Snina, in cooperation with the Bilateral Project Partner – the NIBIO from Norway, will cooperate on a comprehensive integrated climate change system to address new innovative approaches to protecting the municipalities against floods, drought and climate change as a very important part of urban planning. Within the Project, implementation of hard mitigation and adaptation measures is planned – e. g. revitalization of parks and tree alleys, thermal insulation of &nbsp;buildings, rain gardens at public buildings and within the housing estates, low-emission vehicles to support green mobility and reconstruction of public lighting to smart one.</span></span></p> <p><span style="font-family: Calibri, sans-serif"><span style="font-size: 14.6667px">Project targets on general public and youth population.</span></span></p>
