Bilateral cooperation results
Norges Naturvernforbund (Friends of the Earth Norway) are involved in a wide range of activities related to environmental and nature conservation, but work specifically in the area’s conservation, climate change, energy and transportation. The work methods range from awareness raising, policy development and lobbying to practical projects that make the environmental life style more easier for ordinary citizens. SPARE, an international school project on energy and climate, is one of the main international projects of Naturvernforbundet. It is aimed at pupils aged 12-16 and it has been developed in cooperation with environmental NGOs and teachers from more than 15 countries. Methodological materials and teacher training programs are also available, as well as material for kindergartens. The visit of a group of Bulgarian teachers to Norway and their meetings with their colleagues, as well as activists of civil society organizations, will contribute to better knowledge on and transfer of the Norwegian experience in the field of environmental education and civic initiatives to tackle the climate change consequences.
