SOLAR POWER PLANT ZADAR GENERAL HOSPITAL
General Hospital Zadar ·Croatia
About this project

The general Hospital Zadar is a county hospital of regional importance that annually consumes 5,920,627 kWh of electricity, of which the Hospital Polyclinic consumes 1,561,084 kWh. This project consists of building a solar power plant that will reduce electricity consumption from the electricity distribution network by 19,11%. The solar power plant of the General Hospital Zadar, with an output of 220 kW and installed capacity of 0.23 MW, will produce 279.063 kWh of electricity per year. The power plant configuration consists of 4 inverters and 610 photovoltage panels with a total solar panel area of 1,111 m2.

The project objective is therefore to reduce electricity cost of the General Hospital Zadar by installing capacities for the electricity production from renewable sources, which will contribute to security supply and environmental protection in reducing CO2 emissions by 65,3 tons per year. The direct target groups are hospital employees and users of hospital services, and the indirect groups are local and regional self-governments and the overall health system.

The solar power plant construction contributes to the goal of the Programme „Energy and Climate Change“ by increasing usage of technologies with lower carbon emissions and increased security of energy supply in the Republic of Croatia. The solar power plants benefits not only to the hospital itself but to a wider community. It will be an example and incentive for local and national, health and public institutions to use renewable energy sources. By implementing the planned communication activities, General Hospital Zadar will continuously inform its employees, hospital services users and local business community about the benefits of using renewable energy sources and environmental protection by reducing CO2 emissions.
