About this project

The present project proposes the construction of a photovoltaic power plant in the parking lot near the Geothermal Power Plant, which will be connected to the electrical installations of the Geothermal Power Plant in order to reduce electricity consumption from fossil sources and reduce CO2 emissions, by local production of energy from renewable sources. According to the dimensions, a number of approximately 1480 photovoltaic modules will be installed, with a total installed power of approximately 858.4 kWp. The construction of the Geothermal Power Plant has been financed through another EEA&Norway grant project.

Following the implementation of the project, the Applicant will ensure the valorization of renewable energy resources for the production of green energy for self-consumption and reduction of greenhouse gas emissions at the level of Oradea Municipality.
The main gains for the Applicant are:
- Reducing electricity consumption from conventional sources;
- Reducing electricity costs;
- Reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
Secondary objectives achievable after the investment:
- Active public awareness and increasing the involvement of staff in reducing energy consumption and costs;

The major impact on the environment is consisting of the estimated annual CO2 emissions reduction which is calculated to be 286 tonnes of CO2 eq/year after the project implementation.
