Hangot adunk – Menekült családok megerősítése és társadalmi párbeszéd Ukrajnáért
Together for Children Foundation ·Hungary
Background
The objective is to promote social integration and strengthen self-advocacy skills of multiply disadvantaged Transcarpathian Roma refugee families in Csongrád-Csanád County, while reducing anti-Ukrainian disinformation.
The program provides complex support for 16 families (approx. 70 individuals). Indirect target groups include local communities, educators, social workers, and the online public.
Activities and methods: Implementation is conducted by a mobile professional team on the field. Our methodology relies on personalized mentoring (administration, educational integration, legal aid) and skill-development for children. This is complemented by an innovative media program: using YouTube and Facebook content, we strive to dismantle barriers and combat disinformation by highlighting real human stories.
Partnerships and utilization: We work with local municipalities and regional, national, and international organizations. Findings will be summarized in a methodological protocol, serving as a professional reference for other NGOs. By the end of the project, families will become self-sufficient, and the local community more inclusive. Our long-term goal is a sustainable integration model focusing on both direct assistance and social awareness-raising.
Activities
Comprehensive Case Management and Social Support Program (Family Support) The program provides individual and family mentoring support to 16 Ukrainian Roma refugee families (a total of 70 people).
Child and Family Development Program
The educational gap faced by refugee children cannot be bridged within the framework of the public school system. There is a need for a non-segregated environment where trauma healing and skill development can take place simultaneously.
